Transgender Awareness Week is observed from November 13 through 19. Read more about its history, self-care tips, and resources compiled by CUIMC's Department of Psychiatry here

In observance of Transgender Awareness Week, this workshop will serve as a space for reflecting on being trans and/or queer in the U.S. and will help students build community and resilience in the face of trans- and queerphobia.

Participants will be actively engaged in individual reflections and small group discussions with peers. Topics of discussion will include:

  • The impact of the current climate for trans and queer people in the U.S.
  • Envisioning a future for trans and queer people
  • Seeking community and mentorship
  • How to take action to challenge bias, build community, and be an ally

This event is open to all trans and queer students and allies across the University. Please note, attending this event satisfies the Inclusion & Belonging component of the Community Citizenship Initiative for first-year/new students.

Light food will be provided.

This event is co-sponsored by the School of Nursing.
